Donald J. Trump has woven his anti-democratic philosophy of Nationalism and degradation of American norms into his vision of the Flag; further denigrating it's values of Liberty and Justice for All. Rather than create his own logo he usurps it's value and meaning. His support is based heavily on the image of the Flag.

Supporters of Donald Trump fully appreciate and increasingly rely on the image and visual power of the American Flag for justification of their agenda. In so doing they inspire themselves and others who see them and they brand themselves as "patriotic". They do so while blatantly contradicting the values the Flag represents of "One Nation, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all".

 

When you observe any pro-Trump event notice:

1 - the abundance of Flags from which his supporters derive historic "righteousness" and power

2 - the reliance on red, white and blue colors

3 - the limited number of actual signs with statements or specific positions - particularly in the affirmative; other than the man himself and a narrow exclusionary definition/description of America

4 - the ratio of Flags, derivatives of the Flag/images to actual number of people. ("Flag to person ratio")

5 - wearing of the flag as if by birth right and benediction - not as an act of protest
